Colon Street Part 2

I posted a Colon Street entry on April of last year. But it was only in the part of Cebu Business Hotel and University of the Visayas.

This is now in Gaisano Metro and Gaisano South area.

Video: Larsian

Larsian used to be a restaurant back in the 1970s, and is a combination of two names of twin sisters Pilar and Siana.

Presently, Larsian is place of barbecue stalls. Cebu is known for its delicious lechon and sinugba meat and fish. Sinugba (Sugba) is a Cebuano word for grilled or barbecue fish or meat.

In all honestly, I don’t like the present setup of Larsian because it basically contains the smoke of the grilled food, and after eating one would come out smelly.

Gaisano Capital South

Gaisano Capital’s former name was Gaisano South Colon.

I used to work here in 2000, but only for five months. I was assigned in the Engineering Department, but my task was architectural. I draw the plans given to us by our head architect, I also do minor designs.

I enjoyed my time there, but the salary just would not let stay longer, so I had to find another work, which was graphic design related.

Park Mall

Park Mall is located in Mandaue Reclamation Area, in Mandaue City, Cebu. On its right across is Cebu International Convention Center.

Basically, this mall is shopping and dine only. There is no theater or cinema. But still a good alternative to other malls located in the inner Cebu.

Bo’s Coffee at Park Mall

This branch is filled with many people in the afternoons. Not good if you’re into quite atmosphere. Good if you also like watching other people inside, hehe.

Taking a break after shooting around Park Mall. Will post those set, in the next few days.

Bo’s Coffee is a fully Cebuano owned company which started in 1996 in Ayala Center Cebu. It has now about 50 outlets all over the Philippines.

I also had a similar post back in 2009, Bo’s Coffee at Ayala Center.

JY Square Discovery Mall

JY Square Discovery Mall was originally known as simply JY Square. It used to be just a grocery store. The management decided to convert it to a mall to go with the changing times.

Contact information about JY Square:
Website: www.jysquare.com
Main Address : JY Commercial Complex
No. 1 Salinas Drive, Lahug,Cebu City 6000 Philippines
Contact Nos. : (+6332) 417-2378

The first photo is from leylander. I somehow lost my exterior shots of JY Square Mall, surely due to constant transferring of files from one hard drive to another.

I’m still saving up for a laptop, so I just used my sister’s, then when my sister went abroad, I had to transfer my files to the family computer (not the game gadget :D ).

Elizabeth Mall

Elizabeth Mall is located in corner Leon Kilat street and N. Bacalso Avenue. Getting there is easy, just ride an Urgello or Private bound jeeps. If you are from the South, Labangon jeepneys pass here.

Elizabeth Mall or E-Mall is managed by Elizabeth Gan, the wife of Atty. Augusto Go, the president of University of Cebu.

Started this photo walk at Gorordo Avenue – Golden Peak hotel area.
